The name of the scenic spot, Autumn Grove, is originated from the verses in a poem of Du Mu, “Stop the coach to linger and enjoy the view of the maple trees under the setting sun, and the frosted red Autumn maple leaves are more brilliant and beautiful than the Spring flowers of February”. Autumn Grove is located at the island in Yinghu Lake with water on all sides. Two wooden-imitation stone bridges: Rote Bridge and Fragrance Flowing Bridge, connect the island to the other parts of the Park on the east and on the west respectively. The island has an area of 2500 m2. The trees with leaves turning colorful in autumn are throughout the island, such as gingko trees, red maples, triangle maples, green maples, red-leaf plumb trees, torch lacquer trees, beeches, Chinese tallow trees. In late autumn, the tree leaves turn bright and colorful. Looked far off, the scenic spot flames with trees like a rosy cloud on the water surface, and the inverted reflection in the water is faintly visible. Across the Autumn Grove, you will find the Hongzhuang Teahouse of style south of Yangtze River, which is built close to the lake. The tourists can not only enjoy the tea at the spacious platform close to the lake but also overlook the glistening ripples and boats far away. The scene of the tourists, the ripples and the boats, and the red leaves add radiance and beauty to each other and constitute a spectacular autumn scene.
