Preface(前言)

 

With the gradual formation of the united global economy, especially after China’s joining the WTO, the demand for IT personals increases when facing new challenges and new opportunities. Educators will surely accept the responsibility for the education and supply of the new IT personals to meet the needs of the development of society. The public is in need of those who are possessed of enough professional expertise as well as fluency of a certain foreign language. Bilingual teaching must begin with basic education as a must, and without delay: Since lots of bilingual textbooks are available, we have to choose one to fit in with our purpose. Today, English is no longer only a language tool of communication but a means of culture exchange. And, besides, English becomes one of the means to carry on “Quality Education”. Thus when we choose textbooks we have three principles in mind: “Common Knowledge, Entertainment and Basic Science”. After looking through a number of bilingual readers published home and abroad, we have worked for the use of our students . “Common Knowledge, Entertainment and Basic Science in One”, and the book contains reference materials, audio-visual aids and related exercises.

 

 

 

 

随着全球经济一体化的逐渐形成,特别是在我国加入WTO之后,面对新的挑战,新的机遇,对IT人才的需求量越来越大。而培养这些适应社会发展的新一代IT人才的担子必定会落在教育工作者身上。今后社会需要的是既有过硬的专业知识又有熟练运用外语能力的人才,因此从基础教育开始全面展开双语教学势在必行,而且刻不容缓。在市面上出现的双语教材很多,选用教材我就考虑到:如今英语已经不再是一个单纯的交际的工具了,而是一种文化的载体,也是我校开展素质教育的一种手段,因此选用的教材一定要有三个特点:“知识性、趣味性、科学性”。我在阅读、研究了大量的国内外双语教材后,又比较了一些其他学校选用的双语教材,经过整理,自编了一套适合我校学生特点的专题教材。它集“知识性、趣味性、科学性”为一体,内容包括教师参考资料、配套练习、音像资料。
