On May 26 th and 27 th , the Translation Association of China (TAC) held the 5 th national meeting of secretaries general of branch and local associations in Shanghai . TAC President Liu Xiliang, Vice Presidents Zhao Changqian, Huang Youyi, Yin Chengdong, Wu Xizeng and others attended the meeting. Over 90 leaders of various branch and local translation associations all over China also came to Shanghai for the meeting. The meeting was to sum up and exchange work experience and to chart the future plan for further development.

Jiang Yonggang, Executive Deputy Secretary General of TAC, delivered a work report on behalf of the secretariat. In his report, he reviewed the TAC work since the 4 th meeting and put forward the major work for the association with focus on the World Translation Congress to be held in 2008 in Shanghai .

Some leaders of local and branch associations spoke at the meeting, exchanging experience in their association work. Sun Xiyuan, Executive Vice President, and Chen Aiguo, Secretary General of our association, attended the meeting.
