On July 14, SIA's French Language Group and German Language Group were formally established. Executive Vice President Sun Xiyuan attended and spoke at the meeting. Sun congratulated on the establishment of the two groups, hoping that they would be of great help to their members. He also briefed on the academic activities carried out by other three language groups. The French Language Group leader is Tang Genfa, a former division chief and a senior translator of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office and the German Language Group leaders is Mr. Ge Fang, a professor in Shanghai Tong Ji University.
