Prof. Andrew C. Dawrant, Chairman of Interpretation Department, Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation, Shanghai International Studies University, gave an academic lecture to SIA members on “The Training of Professional Interpreters and Career Development” on December 22, 2006. Prof. Dawrant dwelled on the development history of professional interpreters, their qualifications and training. He also briefed on the Association of International Conference Interpreters (AIIC). Over 60 SIA members attended the lecture.
