On December 15, SIA Japanese Language group held a symposium on “The Differences between Chinese and Japanese Cultures and Translation”. Ye Yongding, a well-known translator, was invited to speak on the subject. Ye analyzed the differences between the cultures of China and Japan and their impact on translation. He also spoke on translation skills with his own experience in the translation of Japanese literature.
