President and Vice President of International Federation of Translators (FIT), accompanied by Huang Changqi, Assistant to the President of Translation Association of China (TAC), visited Shanghai Interpreters' Association. Executive Vice President Sun Xiyuan, Vice President Xia Yongfang, Secretary General Chen Aiguo and Deputy Secretary General Zhu Wenhui received FIT's leaders at SIA's office, giving them an introduction to the SIA's work. They also said that SIA would cooperate with TAC in making preparations for the World Congress of Translators to be held in Shanghai next year. Yang Guoqiang, Director General of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office and SIA president, met FIT leaders the same evening. Upon returning home, Ms Christensen sent an email to SIA, expressing her appreciation for SIA's warm reception, saying that she was deeply expressed by Shanghai and she was looking forward to coming to Shanghai next year for the World Congress of Translators.
